What is a Cowlette?
A cowlette is the lovechild of a shawlette and a cowl. It has the shaping and elegance of a shawl, but it can be thrown on as quickly and effortlessly as a cowl.
Cowlettes are worked top down and begin as a small unassuming rectangle (also known as a stockinette tab). Using increase rows, the rectangle is then transformed into a triangle. Once this triangle is large enough to be worn as a cowl, your knitting is then joined in the round. This creates the "cowl" of the "cowlette".
